The following all happened this past weekend, and I believe it is a sign:
1) I saw a robin.
2) I saw a red-winged blackbird.
3) I heard frogs that, thanks to Wandering Owl, I identified as Chorus Frogs.
4) There was still daylight at 7 PM
I THINK, for the first time since November, that Spring might actually make it this year!!
Woo-Hoo!!!
One man's journey through life, where everything seems to involve some aspect of fishing or water.

What in the world is this????
I saw this strange, unfamiliar "stuff" today on the way to work, and actually had my camera along. I took a picture, and proceeded to go to work.
It bothered me all day - what was this stuff??

When I got home, I saw more of it - in my front yard, no less. OMG - could it be ???
GRASS. Ugly, brown, beaten down by the weight of 2 months of snow, but grass nonetheless

Spring might ACTUALLY come this year!!

Spring is almost here!
70 degrees two days ago, temps are now in the 50's on a daily basis. That can mean only one thing - Spring WILL actually make an appearance this year. I'm going to try tomorrow to get my first fish of the year at a local pond. That should also mean the end to the series of non-fish catching posts that comprise the Winter on the blog.
I wasn't sure I'd make it through this winter, but like a big batch of skunk cabbage, I feel like I'm rising through the muck, awakened by the optimism of yet another Spring.
Keep your eyes peeled for 2009's fishing adventures!
